Description

Perennial herbaceous plant with climbing stem and leaves arranged in a rosette. Native to the Asian continent, where it is still considered the plant of longevity, it has enjoyed since ancient times a huge success as a natural remedy against scratches, burns, wounds and other dermatological diseases. In traditional Ayurvedic medicine it has been used as a supplement to improve cognitive functions.

Southeast Asian countries (India, Sri Lanka, China, Indonesia and Malaysia), South Africa and Madagascar.

Curiosity

The healing properties of this plant were also known to wounded animals who used to employ it as a natural remedy to injuries. This is where the popular name Tiger Grass comes from.
