Perennial herbaceous plant native to the cold and dry climates of Siberian mountainous zones of the north-European and North American ones where it was known with the name of "Rhosenrot" meaning "gold roots". Since remote times it is known to positively influence physical performance and general health status. In particular, in the Siberian popular medicine it is used to increase the resistance to the low environmental temperatures.
